The Tennessee Department of Education, in partnership with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) is please to provide an autism-specific workshop for school personnel titled “Awakening the Social Butterfly in Your Middle School/High School Students with ASD”.
Although social skills deficits are a primary feature of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), addressing the social needs of students remains one of the most difficult aspects of educational programming. Building social skills in adolescents helps support relationships that impact performance in school and
future employment. This training will equip participants with the knowledge to better understand and assess the social needs of their students, as well as provide strategies for effective social programming.
This full-day workshop is intended for parents, educators, administrators, and related service providers who support middle school and high school students with ASD.
There is no cost for this workshop.
You must be registered to attend. Contact Linda Copas at 615-741-7790 to find out how to register. Sessions fill quickly, so don’t wait until the last minute to register. It may be full!
